(SPEEDWAY 1)BRITISH duo Edward Kennett and Daniel King both made it through Friday’s Grand Prix qualifying round in Denmark.Coventry captain Kennett finished third on the night with twelve points, missing out to Eastbourne’s Bjarne Pedersen in a run-off for second place, whilst Birmingham skipper King went comfortably through with ten. Both riders have advanced to the semi-final stage of the competition next month, where a good result will put them into the Grand Prix Challenge, one step away from the main 2012 series.Former Lakeside man Jonas Davidsson won the Esbjerg event, and other qualifiers racing for British clubs were Krzysztof Buczkowski (Peterborough), Renat Gafurov (Poole), and Rory Schlein (Belle Vue).(SPEEDWAY 2)SWINDON owner Gary Patchett says his intention is to remain at the club, and at Elite League level – despite his co-owner Terry Russell announcing his departure from Blunsdon at the end of the season.Patchett re-iterated his commitment to the Robins after they suffered a 28-62 home mauling by Poole in the KO Cup, a display he described as the worst since he became involved.Patchett said: “I see that the conspiracy theorists have gone into overdrive in light of Terry's recent announcement and would move to assure our fans that this is not, as some would believe, the first step towards an end to speedway at Swindon.“I shall be making my own enquiries with a view to securing a partner, or partners, who I feel I can work with and with whom I can, jointly, move the club forward. This is an Elite League club and as long as I am involved at Blunsdon it will remain so.”(FIXTURES) SUNDAY JUNE 19:PREMIER LEAGUE: Glasgow v Ipswich 4pm, Newcastle v Plymouth 6.30NATIONAL LEAGUE: Buxton v Belle Vue 3pmMONDAY JUNE 20:SKY SPORTS ELITE LEAGUE: Coventry v Eastbourne 7.30, Wolverhampton v Peterborough 7.30NATIONAL LEAGUE: Belle Vue v Buxton 7.30TUESDAY JUNE 21:NATIONAL LEAGUE: Dudley v Isle of Wight 7.30
