Round 3: Glan-y-Gors, 18-19 June
Shanaka Clay and Daniel Ticktum snatched a victory each in the Glan-y-Gors Finals, which were decided in the final metres.
Ticktum carried a narrow lead into the last lap of the first Final, with Ryan Anderton and Clay close behind. Ticktum and Anderton headed through the circuit’s sweeping downhill section side-by-side, only for Shanaka to slip past two corners from home to seal his first series victory.
The second Final boiled down to a five-kart battle between Ticktum, Anderton, William Taylforth, Josh Smith and Luke Barker. This time Ticktum managed to defend his final-lap lead and claim his third win of the year by just seven hundredths of a second.
