POOLE skipper Davey Watt hailed the Chris Holder/Darcy Ward combination as the Pirates’ heat-leaders rescued a win over Belle Vue.The home side were limited to two points from the meeting but won 47-42 having trailed for much of the meeting with Aces’ reserve Ricky Kling in fine form. But Watt, Holder and Ward dropped just one point from fourteen rides between them, with Holder and Ward combining for match-winning 5-1s in Heats 13 and 15.Watt quipped: “That was a hard fought win but I'm sure glad we pulled it off in the end. I don't know what you have to do to get into Heat 15 with this team, I scored 11 points and it still didn't earn me the right to go in the last one, but those lads know what they are doing!”

EDINBURGH are set to hand a debut to Tim Webster in their Premier League match at home to Newcastle on Friday.22-year-old Webster, who replaces Lee Dicken for the Monarchs, races for Stoke in the National League and recently won that level’s Pairs event at Newport alongside Simon Lambert.Edinburgh boss John Campbell said: “We had already decided that if we were going to make a change at reserve we would like to get someone who can gate. Life’s so much easier if you can do that.“However Tim’s regular track is Stoke and their sweeping turns are somewhat different from our tight corners, so Tim may need a week or two to settle in to our more challenging circuit.”
