Bionic Motorsports and world land speed record-holding driver Michael Roman are proud to announce the 2011 Land Speed Campaign of the Wounded Warrior Project Special presented by Boston Scientific and Snap-on Tools. Roman and his team are poised once again to make history in two new classes, J/BGL and J/BFL, with the addition of a blown power plant and the return of the multi-record setting crew of Wounded Warrior Special Amputee Mike Roman will once again pilot this state-of-the-art modified lakester race car as he reachesfor his sixth Land Speed Record.
The Wounded Warrior Project Special also sponsored by Dreyer & Reinbold Racing, The Signature Room at the 95th, and Pole Position Productions, kicks off the 2011 race campaign with an assault on the J/BGL and J/BFL land speed records at the Loring Air Force Base in Loring, Maine on July 16-17, 2011. Following the Loring event, Mike and his team attack the J/BGL Land Speed Record at the 2011 Speed Weeks which will be held from August 11 through August 20 at the historic Bonneville Salt Flats where Mike established the current World Land Speed Record in the J/GL class in 2009. Mike also currently holds the J/GBL record at Loring with a speed of 166.011 miles per hour.
