FORMER Reading Racers star Phil Morris has linked up with Chalfont Coaches to offer supporters of his old club cut-price travel to his Farewell Meeting.

The Welshman's big event will take place at Birmingham's Perry Barr Stadium on Thursday September 1.And thanks to Chalfont's sponsorship fans can travel to the Midland track on a luxury coach, receive a free souvenir programme and gain admission to the meeting. The all-inclusive deal is available at a bargain price of Adults £20, Concessions £17 and Children £10.Former race-night presenter at Smallmead and member of Morris' Farewell Meeting committee Paul Hunsdon confirmed the deal. He said: "Ivan Shears of Chalfont Coaches is providing a 60-seater coach which will travel up from Reading to Birmingham."And thanks to his generosity we can offer fans a great value for money all-inclusive deal.  I am sure the Racers fans will fill the coach in no-time."

Ex-Reading team manager Shears is delighted to offer his support to the event. He added: "Phil was the club captain when I was Team Manager at the club. We have always got on well, so I am pleased to help him and the Racers fans by providing the travel."The coach will depart from Reading at approximately 3.30pm (location to be confirmed). Once on the coach supporters will receive a souvenir programme for the meeting and an entrance ticket. Bookings will be on a first-come first-served basis.Hunsdon also confirmed that some more top-name stars will be revealed next week.

He said: "Phil has secured some great riders for the meeting - names which will not only please Racers fans but speedway fans in general."Full details on the format of the meeting will also be revealed next week.
