Good start for Cecconi at Donington

Racing commitments are coming one after the other for Kevin Ceccon: just one week ago the Italian 17 year-old was in Silverstone for GP2, and now he's in Britain again for Auto GP, this time in Donington.Kevin, who's leading the Under 21 Standings and lies 2nd in the Overall behind Filippi, started the weekend well with a Friday where he was always in the top spots: he was second in the first Practice, then he lost nearly the whole second session due to an off-track that left him stuck in the gravel trap after the first minutes, but despite this he had a very good qualifying.

In the first minutes Kevin was second, and then he ended the Qualifying session in 5th place despite being forced to back off in his best laps because of two yellow flags and one red flag. Even being hampered by the circumstances,Kevin closed with a 1'17"733 that was just 0"5 adrift from first row. Thanks to this performance Kevin was second among the Under 21 drivers and is in a very good condition for an aggressive race tomorrow: Race 1 will start at 10.45 and will be broadcasted live on Eurosport 2.

Kevin Ceccon: "Our starting position is not bed at all, but it could have been even better if I wasn't forced to abort three quick laps because of the flags. Anyway I'm ok with the result, Race 1 is very long and the forecasts are predicting heavy rain, so the most important thing will be managing the situation in the best possible way, both on track and on the pit wall
