Rain Halts Play at Oulton Park - Gimoto - Round 7

Once again the good old British weather played havoc at Oulton Park this weekend. Despite a bad weather forecast for Saturday the rain only fell on Saturday morning before drying up and allowing the first Supersport race to take place. Gimoto rider Ben Wilson had one of the most stunning rides of the year in one of the most dramatic races of the year. Suffering a technical problem during the qualifying session Ben had to start from 26th place on the grid and rode an amazing race to finish second place, with the top three being separated by 0.06 over the line.

However, things changed drastically on Sunday morning and the rain started falling early on, they were able to run the first Superbike race, Superstock 1000's, Harley Davidson's and the 125's but the weather was getting increasingly worse and the organisers had to make the decision to cancel the second Supersport race, second Superbike race and the Superstock 600 race - all these will be rescheduled at later races in the year.

Gimoto rider Gary Mason secured one of his best results of the year in the first Superbike race and gained fifth place. It was the 125 class where the Gimoto riders shone through with KRP riders Matt Davies and Wayne Ryan gaining a fantastic 1st and 2nd place respectively both wearing Gimoto leathers.

Gimoto would like to wish Simon Andrews and John Laverty a speedy recovery after the serious injuries they sustained at Snetterton and Oulton Park. Simon was run over in a high speed crash and sustained leg injuries and John Laverty crashed heavily at Oulton Park when he hit the pit wall during practice, Gimoto hope they recovery soon.
