TEILLET AND SUZUKI MX2 READY FOR LOMMEL

The Grand Prix of Limburg at the Lommel circuit and the 11th round of 15 in the FIM Motocross World Championship is up next for Suzuki Europe MX2.

The meeting will take place at something of spiritual home for the team, thanks to its close links in recent years with the Rockstar Energy World MX1 factory crew based five minutes from the track - and the many laps and motos of testing and training done across the Limburg leaps.

Valentin Teillet approaches the event fresh after a free weekend and extra time to focus on his set-up and mind-set for the sand after at least four outings on the terrain in Belgium through the past eight days.

"It was good to have a free weekend," said Teillet, who has finished 10th, eighth and seventh with the RM-Z250 in the last three rounds since coming back from injury. "I was originally going to enter the ADAC round of the MX Masters but together with the team we decided not to go, and focus on getting ready for Lommel. I have ridden quite a lot in the last two weeks; a few times in Lommel before they shut the circuit to prepare for the GP last Sunday. There - and at Honda Park - were a lot of GP riders also training and testing, so it was good to get out and make those motos."

Lommel will be a tough test for both rider and machine as the constantly-shifting flat sand is particularly heavy on energy reserves and engine stress. The RM-Z250 coped admirably 12 months ago in assisting Ken Roczen to victory at the venue. Lommel has been on the FIM calendar each year since 2008 and was recently confirmed at the circuit that will host the 2012 Motocross of Nations.

"I'm a rider who likes jumps so Lommel can be a bit boring for me, but the conditions there are quite special," adds Teillet. "I have done a lot of training in the sand, so I am better than before and I enjoy it now."

The current weather forecast for the weekend is not fantastic with cloudy conditions and showers predicted for both Saturday and Sunday.

MX2 World Championship standings (after 10 of 15 rounds): 1. Ken Roczen (GER, KTM), 446 points; 2. Jeffrey Herlings (NED, KTM), 419 p.; 3. Tommy Searle (GBR, Kawasaki), 370 p.; 4.
