A young Spanish driver of Kurdish origin is going to race this weekend at Hungaroring, for a new meeting of Porsche Supercup. He is driving a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup lined-up by Barzani Racing Team-MRS.
Isaac Tutumlu is taking part this weekend in a new meeting of Porsche Supercup. Tutumlu, raced two months ago in Monaco and now he returns to this championship on Hungarian soil. Tutumlu arrives in Hungary to drive a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup –under Kurdish flag colors- which is lined-up by a well-experienced team: Barzani Racing Team-MRS.
“I am glad to compete in Hungary. In May I drove during Monegasque meeting, but I was severely handicapped because I didn´t previously know that hard street circuit. Besides I had mechanical issues in free practice session, and it isn´t easy to learn a new track in ten minutes. Qualifying session was hard too and in race I was black-flagged for an unknown reason”, Tutumlu explained. He added that “I approach this new race as official driver and not just guest. On the other hand, it is fair to mention that I know this venue and I don´t need to learn it, because I competed here two years ago. I am confident for Friday, and we want to get a good set-up for Saturday´s qualifying. A good place on the starting grid is very important to achieve the best possible result on Sunday”.
Tutumlu, who set very competitive lap times in Monaco, wants too “to gain mileage, because I need as much experience as possible, to perform well at the end of season”. The timetable for this meeting is as usual, with free practice session scheduled on Friday. Qualifying session starts at 12.25 on Saturday, just half an hour long, while the race is scheduled on Sunday, just before Grand Prix of Hungary.
