SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship

Rounds 14 & 15: Kames, 30/31 July

Stewart Robb Jnr took a brace of wins at Kames, but it was his father, the original Stewart Robb, who emerged with his hands on the British Championship title for the first time.

Stewart Robb Jnr recorded wins on both the anti-clockwise and clockwise layouts which elevated the young Scot to eleventh in the championship’s final standings, despite missing most of the season whilst working away in Norway & Egypt. Ross Napier scored a second and third to move up to sixth – a great result considering the few events he could manage whilst commuting from Africa!

Terry Holmes put in two stirring drives and slipped past Mark Smith, who was on his first visit to Kames, and grabbed third in the final standings. Colin Birkbeck was the fastest of the two litre runners on both days despite having a slipping clutch on Sunday.
