Seven weeks since the Ginetta Junior Championship was last in action,Snetterton 300 Circuit in Norfolk hosts the resumption of the 2011 seasonnext weekend, 6th/7th August, and points leader Seb Morris will be aiming toget the second half of the campaign off to a winning start.Arriving at the newly configured track an extremely comfortable 88 pointsclear of his closest rival, the 15-year-old from Marford, near Wrexham, hasenjoyed a fantastic year to date with seven wins from 10 races and new laprecords at Thruxton, Oulton Park and Donington Park.Everything hasn't been all plain sailing though for the Hillspeed driver, particularly during the last two rounds at Croft in North Yorkshire whereSeb had to battle through from uncharacteristically low grid slots followingproblems in qualifying.Even so, he displayed great tenacity and skill in fighting his way throughto fourth and fifth place results - including the fastest lap in the secondrace - to ensure he closed out the first half of the season with anothersubstantial haul of points. The King's School, Chester pupil's performance at Croft proved he's just asproficient at slicing his way through the field as he is at leading from thefront. Undoubtedly though, Seb will be bidding to challenge for a brace ofpole positions at Snetterton and to try and increase his tally of wins."I definitely want to be back on the top step of the podium", he said, "Weneed to regain the flow we had in the first four events of the season andtry and start winning races again to keep increasing our championship lead. It's been good having a big break since Croft, I learnt a lot there and ifthat turns out to be our worst weekend of the season we won't have done toobadly at all."Snetterton's newly configured '300 Circuit' will bring a fresh challenge forthe drivers from the Ginetta Junior Championship and without a full day oftesting prior to the race meeting, the first running will come during twoshort practice sessions on Friday, 5th August. He added: "The new circuit looks really challenging and because it's a verylong track we won't have many laps at all in the practice sessions. Wereally could have done with a full day of testing, but it's the same foreveryone so we'll do our best to get up to speed quickly. I've had a look atsome videos on You Tube to get some knowledge, hopefully that will bebeneficial."Following Friday's test sessions, another brief 15-minute practice will takeplace on Saturday, 6th August, ahead of qualifying at 13.55. Rounds 11 and12 will take place at 10.30 and 17.50 respectively on Sunday, 7th August.Freeview, digital satellite and cable channel ITV4 will broadcast live fromSnetterton on raceday with coverage also screened in High Definition on theITV4 HD channel.
