WOLVERHAMPTON star Freddie Lindgren is under observation in New Cross Hospital after a horrifying crash on Monday.Lindgren, the hugely popular Swedish rider, crashed heavily in the first race of Wolverhampton's remarkable 47-43 win over Lakeside in the Elite League.Wolves boss Peter Adams went to see his rider immediately after the victory and said: “Freddie is in good spirits right now but doesn't know what day it is or who he is. He's taken a bad bang to the head and he is complaining of pains in his neck and back but has full movement which is good news.“But they are keeping a close eye on his head injury and hopefully there will be some improvement which we can report on within the next 24-hours.”

DISAPPOINTED Belle Vue boss Jim Lynch believes the Aces are out of the play-off race after being held to a 45-45 draw at home by Coventry. It was their second stalemate in three outings at Kirkmanshulme Lane, with Rory Schlein preventing a Bees win with a stunning Heat 15 move to get the better of Edward Kennett and Kenni Larsen.Lynch said: “We can say goodbye to a top four play-off place. Coventry rode as a team and we were disjointed. Our new signing Lukasz Jankowski made a great debut with six points and it was criminal he should give a performance like that and we only get a draw.”Coventry boss Alun Rossiter said: “I’m happy with the two points, because if I’m honest I thought we could struggle. It was a good team effort, we did give away some silly points but then we came good in the races where I wasn’t expecting it.”

DARCY Ward has handed Poole a massive boost by declaring himself fit to return from injury ahead of schedule.Ward will be back for the Pirates’ home clash with Wolverhampton on Wednesday with Jason Doyle and Christian Hefenbrock also racing to bring the Elite League leaders back to full strength.Promoter Matt Ford said: “Darky contacted me to say he was feeling good and wanted to get back racing as soon as he could. I know he was so frustrated last week watching the lads and knowing he couldn't be out there to help the cause, but he still played his part in the pits. “When he told me he thought he was ready enough to come back then I must admit I was quite relieved, simply because I just love watching the boy ride.”(FIXTURES)
