The Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship is about to get under way again after a seven week summer break and Team ES Racing is ready to step up to the challenge in the second half of the year as racing resumes at Snetterton.
During the break the team have been busy fitting a new engine to the Chevrolet Lacetti along with overhauling the gearbox and re-spraying the car. Driver/Owner Chris James has been a busy man throughout the break in his day job as Managing Director of a plant hire company, with staff on holiday he has been up against it.
He has however had chance to develop his race craft by spending some time in an iZone Simulator. "It's been great to get some 'track time' and receive some feedback about my driving," said James. "I've gained some great knowledge from the experience and will be looking to put it in to play on track."
BTCC heads to Norfolk for the start of the second half of the season and will be let loose on the new Snetterton 300 layout. "I'm looking forward to the new 300 circuit, historically it's known for being a fast circuit so the changes will throw up some new challenges" said James.
With seven weeks since the last round at Croft James is keen to get back in the driving seat and head back out on track.
"It's great to finally be able to get racing again, seven weeks is a long time between races! I'm also looking forward to seeing the fans, each one of them means so much to us and we hope for their continued support for the second half of the season" added James.
