The final showdown finally took place at Brands Hatch this weekend and although HEL user Shane 'Shakey' Byrne finished third in the Championship standings the popular HM Plant rider went out with two stunning victories to end his season on a high note despite two big crashes over the weekend.
Despite this the racing was some of the best ever seen and Tommy Hill eventually became the 2011 British Superbike Champion in a very hard fought season. Shakey's season took a turn for the worse as they entered into the final showdown and final three rounds of the year, sadly it was not to be for him this year but it certainly was not for lack of effort. Out of the top ten riders over the three races HEL Performance were being used by 21 of the 30 finishes in the three final races of the year, a good indication that the products are used by some of the best teams in the BSB Paddock.
In the British Superbike Evo Championship the WFR team consisting of Glen Richards and Graeme Gowland have both had a fantastic season and eventually gained first and second respectively, with Gowland taking a stunning 13 wins, both rider are using HEL brake-lines.
It was an action packed weekend all round and the British Supersport Championship also went down to the final race of the weekend. HEL user Alastair Seeley on the Relentless Suzuki finally lifted, once again, the British Supersport title but not without a fight from Ben Wilson. The pair have clashed fairings all season and it went down to the third and final race of the weekend, Seeley showed true Championship spirit and took a stunning and solid win and lifted the title for the Relentless by TAS Suzuki team.
HEL would like to congratulate all the riders that have used the HEL brake-lines during 2011 and hope to continue their success in 2012 and endeavour to have a strong list of riders next season.
