SOMERSET are hopeful that high-scoring reserve Alex Davies will be fit to return for two matches in two days this week.Davies was involved in a freak accident at Glasgow last weekend when he suffered a chain failure when doing a practice start, the resultant fall ruling him out of the meeting before he had taken a ride.Rebels boss Steve Bishop said: “Obviously we would like to think that Alex will be OK to take his place in the side when make the trip to Redcar on Thursday, but at the time of speaking, it is just too early to say what the situation will be.“If it subsequently proves that Alex isn’t sufficiently recovered, then we will have to bring in another guest replacement.”
