Finalists announced for Carrera Cup GB Scholarship
Four ambitious young racing drivers have been selected as finalists in the fourth year of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Scholarship Programme (Monday 10 October 2011). Created and run by Porsche Cars GB, the 'Carrera Cup GB Scholarship Programme' will provide £80,000 to the selected driver to use as a significant element of their budget for the 2012 Carrera Cup GB season.The four finalists, chosen by an expert panel from a strong array of applicants, will now be put through a rigorous evaluation process at the Porsche Experience Centre at Silverstone in late October, including driving the latest 450bhp 911GT3 Cup car on the Silverstone National circuit.The four finalists are:Jody Fanning; aged 18 from South Godstone, Surrey2011 season: Michelin Ginetta GT SupercupTom Ingram; aged 18 from High Wycombe, Bucks2011 season: Michelin Ginetta GT SupercupDaniel Lloyd; aged 19 from Huddersfield, West Yorks2011 season: VW Scirocco R-Cup Ollie Millroy; aged 21 from Esher, Surrey2011 season: Formula Renault UK ChampionshipThe identity of the 2012 Carrera Cup GB Scholar will be announced in early November.
