(SPEEDWAY 1)BERWICK confirmed a top-ten finish in the Premier League with a hard-fought 48-42 win over Newport in the final meeting of the season at Shielfield Park.The match went into a last-heat decider with the Wasps just two points adrift, but Bandits skipper Lee Complin cut back under Leigh Lanham and Kevin Doolan to make sure of the win, and was joined at the front by team-mate Josef Franc for a 5-1.Berwick boss Ian Rae said: "The lads kept the best till last as did our skipper who made a cut-back line I've never seen performed before at Shielfield on bend one."It was a magnificent Complin move. All the lads rode well and they deserve the win - roll on 2012 with our new Polyfoam fence!"(SPEEDWAY 2)PLYMOUTH extended their winning run at home to nine matches with a 50-43 win over Edinburgh - with skipper Ben Barker collecting yet another maximum.Barker rode despite a wrist injury and teamed up with Ricky Wells for a 5-1 in Heat 15 which ensured all three points for the Devils in a meeting delayed due to power failures.Promoter Mike Bowden said: "There had been so much rain during the week and a lot of water had found its way into the system. Our thanks are due to the supporters for their patience and also to the riders and officials for enabling us to complete the meeting once the electrical problem had been resolved."It was another tremendous performance against a very strong Edinburgh team, who are former league champions.
