Rebellion has strong expectations for ILMC Finale at Zhuhai

The first outing of the #12 Toyota powered Lola of REBELLION Racing in China isawaited with high expectations by the team.

After a very positive season in the Le Mans Series that saw the Swiss team winning both the LMP1 Team and LMP1 Manufacturers Championships, the 6 Hours of Zhuhai, which is the final round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup provides an opportunity to finish the 2011 season with another positive result for REBELLION Racing.

Since the opening race of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at Sebring, REBELLION Racing has ben strongly placed as the best petrol team in the field. Before the last race of the season in Zhuhai the team have strengthened their fourth place in the Teams classification, a few points from the third place holder.

A strong result at the 6 Hours of Zhuhai would help REBELLION Racing to reach the third step of the Teams championship podium behind the Peugeot and Audi factory teams, which would place the Swiss team as the best LMP1 private team of the 2011 “World Endurance Championship”.

Nico Prost and Neel Jani will be the drivers for the race. The French-Swiss pair are focused on ending the season the best way with a podiumfinish in the race. They are both fully ready to face a really competitive battle with theOak Racing and Aston Martin Racing cars.

The 6 Hours of Zhuhai race will start at 11h00 local time on Sunday 13th November.

Neel Jani :« I have good memories from Zhuhai as I have raced there in A1GP. I made a poleposition and finished the race on the podium. I don’t think we could get the pole thistime… but reaching the podium could be possible. It will be good to race with only 29cars on the track in comparison to more than 50 that we had in Atlanta ! »

Nicolas PROST :« Zhuhai is the last race of the season and last round of the ILMC. Our main targetwill be once again to qualify and finish the race as the best petrol LMP1. I amexpecting a strong fight with the Oak Racing cars. This track with a lot of slowcorners may help us to be closer to the diesel cars, but I don’t think that we couldrace with them. The team has worked very hard all season, running cars in both theLe Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup was a immense effort for aprivate team. To be able to finish on the race podium and third in the Teamsclassification would be the best way to reward all the team for their effort this year. »

Bart Hayden, Rebellion Racing Team Manager :« The 6 Hours of Zhuhai will be the last race of the season and the last of theIntercontinental Le Mans Cup story. Third place in the Teams classification is stillachievable and we would like to leave our team name in the record books, like wehave in the Le Mans Series by winning the last championship with the LMP1 cars. The team have shown this year their professionalism, skill, ability and dedication. They deserve that kind of honour, the cars have had good reliability and real pace allseason long.
