The second Free Practice session of the Auto GP weekend in Valencia brought very good news for the Spanish and Argentinian fans, as home team Campos Racing topped the timesheets with Facu Regalia. Regalia posted a 1’24”586 that was enough to leave Adrian Quaife-Hobbs behind by just 0.02 and after the session he was just delighted: “Now everything is really coming together – said the driver from Buenos Aires – I changed a bit my driving in some spots and the team did a change on the car that is really making a big difference. Now I must keep this first place in Qualifying”.Quaife-Hobbs confirmed that this weekend he will be one of the men to beat, taking a very good 2nd place despite suffering from a bit of understeer, an issue that SuperNova International will try to solve in time for the qualifiying session. The Briton was followed by Daniel de Jong, third with 1’24”793: the Dutchman’s performance delighted Mp Motorsport’s team manager Sander Dorsman: “Step by step Daniel is really getting a good feeling with the car, improving both his laptimes and his consistency. Now we will have to see how we will cope with the soft compound tyres in qualifying but we should be ok”.De Jong was followed by Victor Guerin and Pål Varhaug, both confirming they’re in very good shape for the upcoming quali session, while Sergio Campana was 6th and much happier than yesterday about the balance of his car. Campana closed the session ahead of Sergey Sirotkin, again jumping on the Auto GP car just after an F3 session, and Chris Van der Drift, who had to cope with some braking issues. Antonio Spavone was again in the top ten with the ninth quickest time, ahead of an improving Giancarlo Serenelli who is still working with Ombra Racing to find the perfect balance: “Session after session the car feels better and now I can push a bit more. I think that with new tyres we are closer to our competitors, and we also did some changes on the car that worked fine, so we are going in the right direction”.Valencia, Free Practice 2, 30 Marzo 20121 Facu REGALIA Campos Racing 1:24.586
