After awarding the drivers title to Adrian Quaife-Hobbs in an exciting Curitiba round, Auto GP is ready to reach Sonoma: the Californian track will be the stage for the last event of the Championship and another thriller weekend should be guaranteed considering that both the Teams Championship and the Under 21 title are still up for grabs. Before the engines can be started, anyway, cars and materials will need to get from Brazil to the USA: right after the end of Race 2 in Curitiba the teams rushed to pack cars and equipment into the cases, that then were loaded into the nine containers used for the freight. Thanks to a purpose-made system six cars can be stored in one single container, meaning that packing the 18 Auto GP cars that are traveling requires just three of them. The other six are needed in order to carry all the materials needed for the race weekends, from teams equipment to Zytek spare engines.
Once the packing was completed, the containers were loaded on flatbed trucks and transported to the Paranagua harbor to undertake a sea travel in two legs: the first one started on August 2 and will end on August 19 in Manzanillo, Panama, onboard of the Maersk Jaipur vessel. Then, from Manzanillo, Hapag Lloyds Rotterdam Express will leave on September 1 to reach the Oakland harbor on September 10.
From there the Infineon Raceway will be just 60 kms far: after completing the customs process the containers are expected to be unloaded in the paddock on September 13 already, ready to be opened by the teams that will arrive just some days later
