Omani racing driver Ahmad Al Harthy faces one of the toughest challenges of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship this weekend, 25th/26th August, when the notoriously tricky Knockhill Circuit in Scotland hosts rounds 13 and 14 of the season.Renowned for providing a unique test for drivers and teams, the undulating 1.27-mile track has been good to the Oman Air Racing Team star over the last couple of years and his confidence is rightly high after posting his seventh Pro-Am 1 victory of 2012 last time out at Snetterton. This years trip to Knockhill, which marks the 20th anniversary of the first ever visit of the headlining Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship to the Fife circuit, will only be Ahmads third but on each previous occasion he has climbed the Pro-Am 1 podiumonce in 2010 and twice last season.Knockhills always a good circuit to visit, the track is really challenging in a Porsche and you dont have a second to rest with the lap being quite short and there being so many twists and turns, said the 30-year-old, Weve gone well there in the past and theres no reason at all we shouldnt be able to continue our strong momentum at the weekend.Arriving in Scotland with an enhanced 40-point lead in the Pro-Am 1 standings, despite being punted out of the first Snetterton race just over a week ago, Ahmad is in a strong position but hes refusing to rest on his laurels and plans on attacking for yet more wins at Knockhill. With seven victories from the 12 rounds so far contested, and a total of 11 visits to the podium this year, the Oman Air, Oman Ministry of Sports Affairs, Oman Ministry of Tourism, Nawras, National Bank of Oman and Muscat Eye Laser Centre-backed driver has been the class of Pro-Am 1.Ahmad was quite rightly furious at Snetterton after seeing his unbroken run of podium finishes and a certain round 11 victory ripped from his grasp through absolutely no fault of his own, but the past is just that and the Muscat driver is only focused on the seasons eight remaining races.I really couldnt believe what happened in the first race at Snetterton but we bounced back in the best way possible by winning round 12, he added, It would have been easy to let my head drop after race one but all of us at the Oman Air Racing Team were determined to win race two. I was quite surprised actually we were able to increase our lead in the points, even with the non-finish.More wins at Knockhill would be fantastic and well definitely be pushing hard to try and achieve that. Its all about the bigger picture though, winning the championship is our priority and thats what were working towards.2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB ChampionshipPro-Am1 Driver Standings (after Rd12):1st Ahmad Al Harthy, 105pts
