HHC Motorsport took two more race wins in the Ginetta Junior Championship at Knockhill, with driver Charlie Robertson now leading the championship.
Scottish-born Robertson took pole position for both races and made a good start in the opener to fend off rival Harry Woodhead and led by 1.4 seconds at the end of the first lap. Despite a wet track, Charlie drove a mature race and was able to break away from the pack and took victory of the season by three seconds. Not only was it a fourth win of the season for HHC Motorsport, it was Charlies first win on Scottish soil.
The HHC Motorsport car started race two from pole position and Charlie was again able to build a lead, helped by drama behind him, which allowed the Scotsman to escape. Charlie took his fifth win of the championship by two seconds. The victory now puts Charlies HHC-run car ahead by four points in the title race.
Team-mate William Palmer in the second HHC car bagged 10th in the frantic opening race and was running an impressive fifth in the second race before an over-ambitious lunge from rival Harry Woodhead turned him around at the Hairpin. Will recovered to finish eighth as he continues to develop in his first full season of car racing.
HHC Motorsports Charlie Kemp was delighted with the outcome of the weekend. It was almost the dream weekend, really. Two wins is a fabulous result and the two pole positions illustrate how good the car was at Knockhill. Our last double victory with Charlie came at Thruxton, which is a totally different circuit from Knockhill, so we are really pleased that we are able to take wins at such different venues. That proves we can engineer a car for any type of circuit and that Charlie does a great job behind the wheel. He was error-free, smooth and mature and to now lead the championship is a great result.
The next stop for HHC Motorsport is Silverstone on September 8/9 for the Ginetta GT5 Challenge before heading to Rockingham on September 22/23 for the next rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship.
