It was a tough weekend for the Moto-Breakers team at Donington Park and only one rider was fit to race, that was Jimmy Rose. Both Jake Dixon and James Lodge were declared unfit to ride after their crashes at Cadwell Park, where Dixon sustained a broken wrist and Lodge a broken collarbone.
Jimmy was left to fly to flag and suffering with an old shoulder injury he could only manage sixth place in the Metzeler National Superstock 600 race, the race was cut short after nine and a half laps after an incident at the Old Hairpin section of the Circuit.
Jimmy had worked hard all weekend and qualified in the front row in fourth place and was eager to gain some valuable Championship points. He had to miss part of the qualifying session on Saturday after his shoulder flared up and triggered serious arm pump. After some treatment and strapping he was out on the grid for the scheduled 14-lap race.
He gained a great start and was through to second place at Craner Curves and was second after the opening lap. He had a few big moment during the race and this lost him vital time and places dropping him back through the field. Despite his valiant effort he could only bring the Moto-Breakers Yamaha home in sixth position. Jimmy is still lying in second place in the Championship only two points in front Lee Jackson with only two rounds of the Championship remaining.
Jimmy - "That was a hard race I've no idea what I did to my shoulder but somehow I've flared up an old injury and it locked solid on Friday night. I had a bit of massage and lazer treatment on it to try and get full movement back and it did the job it needed but was painful again in the race and I got horrendous arm pumps, which I've not suffered with all season. The Moto-Breakers Yamaha worked well all weekend but I was just struggling to put smooth laps together and I was finding it difficult to hold on. I was pretty pleased when the red flag stopped the race earlier than expected as I was getting to the stage where I didn't know if I'd finish. Hopefully I'll be fully right and fixed up for Silverstone in a few weeks' time."
