WORKINGTONS Kyle Howarth returned to action after eight weeks on the injured list with a flawless 18-point maximum in the Comets 56-36 win over Leicester.Manager Tony Jackson said: I dont think anyone dared imagine that Kyle would make such a stunning return from injury as he did. His maximum was thoroughly deserved and he looked like he had never been away.It just proved what we have said all along, that his absence just could not be covered by guests. His return has given everyone at the club a huge lift as we head towards the league title play-offs and cup semi-finals and, with Kyle back in the side, we are now a very different proposition to what we were a couple of weeks ago. With Tero Aarnio also making a return from injury and the possibility of Adam Roynon returning to action before the season finishes we are still hopeful of picking up some silverware this year.(SPEEDWAY 3)RYE House rounded off their home Premier League programme with an impressive 58-35 win over play-off qualifiers Edinburgh. The Rockets top scorers were Jason Garrity (14+1) and Anders Mellgren (13+3) as they now turn their attention to the Premier Challenge Trophy where they face Ipswich and Sheffield.Mellgren said: We have been struggling big time with injuries and departures this year. Having to operate rider-replacement for Luke (Bowen) is so hard, because no one can afford to struggle when you are running r/r. I have to admit that I was a bit rusty for this meeting. Ive been used to three matches every week, and this was the first one. But it was good practice for tomorrows (Sunday) Premier League Riders Championship. I didnt expect to be in that at the start of the season, but when I started to score double figures I finally started to think it was possible. (FIXTURES)
