Mark Woodage and Paul Keates at MJW Kawasaki are delighted to announce their riders for the 2013 Motocross season. They have chosen six riders to compete in various Championships in 2013, four are under the age of 16 in the hope to develop and produce some new British Motocross talent. All riders are hoping to compete in as many Red Bull Pro Nationals, Maxxis British, BYMX, KWS, BSMA and GT Cup races as possible.
The youngest member of the team is 12-year-old Callum Green from Mansfield. A former 65 Club Champion and finishing in 7th place in the GT this season he will move into the Small Wheel 85 class on the Kawasaki KX85 next season.
Callum Green- "I am looking forward to riding for MJW Kawasaki, I am grateful for the opportunity, looking forward to working with the team and learning from the more experienced riders. I'll try my best to get some good results in the Nationals and hopefully repay Mark and Paul and the rest of the sponsors with my results."
On-board the Kawasaki KX250F will be three young up and coming riders who will be hoping to up their game next season with the MJW Kawasaki squad. The riders are 14-year-old Will Keogh from Nottingham, 16-year-old Macauley Madden from Doncaster and 16-year-old Rob Davidson from Sheffield.
Will, has finished third in the British Maxxis MXY85 Championship, is looking forward to moving up to the KX250F next season.
Will Keogh- "I'm really excited about MJW Kawasaki. With some great sponsors on board, I can't wait to start training on the new Kawasaki KX250F for next season and it was a good to finish third in the Championship it's been a tough but enjoyable year."
Rob, finished 3rd overall in the British Maxxis MXY2 class this season and won his class in the prestigious Weston Beach Race in 2011.
Rob Davidson- "I am really excited for the 2013 session with a new team and a new bike it will be a fun winter getting to grips with the Kawasaki and the people involved in it. With some good backing from the sponsors we can have the right equipment to do the job and with the performance of the new 2013 KX250F and with Marks' knowledge and experience and Paul doing the suspension it's a very good package. Just a big thanks to my sponsors last year and this year for getting me this far."
Macauley Madden, a former YSMA Champion is excited about the prospect of riding for MJW Kawasaki saying "It's a big step for me but something I'm really looking forward to and I'd like to thank Mark and Paul for this opportunity to race with them in 2013 and hope I can get them some good results over the season."
In the MX1 Class are two experienced riders, riding the Kawasaki KX450F James Lassu and Oliver Sandiford-Smith.
James who won the 2012 British Masters Two Stoke Championship is eager to start his new challenge on the new team next season.
James Lassu - "Im really happy for this opportunity Mark at MJW as offered me, I feel this could be a big break in my racing career and I'm looking forward to working with the team in 2013 and getting some good results.
I was fortunate enough to gain a wildcard ride at the last round of the British Maxxis Championship this weekend and we took a Kawasaki straight out the box and I managed to gain points and make the super final which is a big achievement considering I haven't raced in the British for a few years, but it's a good sign for next year I can't wait."
Oliver, is making a welcome return to the sport after a couple of years missed due to lack of sponsorship and injuries.
Oliver Sandiford-Smith - "I'm really looking forward to 2013 , this is a great opportunity for me here at MJW Kawasaki and I'm confident and committed that being involved with such professional people, they will help and guide me back to the top were I have been before and belong , the failures and dealings with difficult people in the past have only made me stronger and wiser and I'm fully committed and dedicated to the future of my career, I'm still only 24 and I know big things are going to come with the hard work and dedication I put in, I would just like to say OLLIE is back, hope too see you all in 2013 and onwards, thank-you."
Team Owner - Mark Woodage - "I'm very pleased to get the riders we have, we have a great selection of youth riders and some very experienced adults on board. Hopefully the youths can gain experience and learn from the adults and can mature into future champions. We are still also hopefully looking to add to the youth selection of riders and ideally would like a 65 runner and another 85 runner also. It's going to be great working with Oliver and James in MX1 and already watching them on track is great and I am sure the whole team can progress and work together to have a successful 2013 season."
