Team Parker Racing will field a three-car team in the Porsche Michelin Carrera Cup GB in 2004. The team that took Barry Horne to the 2003 title will field cars for Chris Cooper, Mark Hazell and Martin Rich.
"We've got a good committed team for 2004 and we're aiming to come back with a strong bid to defend our title," says team boss Stuart Parker. Hazell is returning to Porsche racing after taking a sabbatical in 2003, while Cooper and Rich both step up having been Caterham pacesetters with the team.
Hazell raced a 911GT3 Cup car in 2002, and is now returning with a 2004 car for a full title campaign. "Mark's got plenty of Porsche experience and he's really motivated for the new season," says Parker.
Cooper, meanwhile, scored the team's first championship success in 2001 when he won the Caterham Superlight title. "We've had a relationship with Chris for four years now," says Parker. Rich will also race a Porsche for the first time, having developed into a Caterham pacesetter with TPR during 2003.
"We've got the right people in the right places and Barry Horne will be working with the team and our drivers again in 2004," continues Parker. After an initial shakedown at Snetterton last week, the team's test programme begins in earnest at Donington this week.
