Matteo Pellegrino has reached an agreement with Vergani Racing to compete in the World Series Light 2004 championship.
The race car driver from Ravenna (Italy) has decided to build on the experience he accumulated last year in the same championship with RC Motorsport.
After his first experinces in Karting, Matteo made his debut in a single seater when he was only 16. He competed in Formula Campus and finished in a satisfying eighth place
The Tatuus single seaters represent the next step. Pellegrino, who wasn’t 18 years old, partecipated in the Italian Formula Renault championship (2001-2002). 2003 was an important year for Matteo, he competed with the RC Motorsport team in a very challenging World Series Light. Pelligrino took sixth place in his debut year. He constantly chalked up points (93 in all) and went on the podium 3 times. During the same year, he also participated in 2 races in the Euro 3000 Series.
The objective for 2004 is to capitalize on the experience he acquired and to move up on the race car driver’s classification.
Matteo Pellegrino will make his debut on board the Vergani Racing’s Dallara during the test sessions set on March 5th in Barcelona and on March 8 & 9, in Jarama.
