Third in the Championship for Jimmy Rose and Moto-Breakers Yamaha

It was a mixed weekend for the Moto-Breakers Yamaha team at the final round of the Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend. In glorious sunshine in front of a packed crowd the Moto-Breakers riders tried in vain to get good results but all was lost. Jake Dixon crashed out of second place, Jimmy Rose secured third place in the Championship, James Lodge was ninth and the new rider in the team Levi Day was 18th.

Jimmy Rose came into the final round of the series just five points behind the joint leaders Burke and Jackson and was eager to take the race down to the wire. The likable youngster struggled with a set up through the weekend and was only able to qualify in tenth place on the grid for the 14-lap race. Disaster struck for Jimmy in the race when he was forced out wide into the opening turn at Paddock Hill on the first lap, re-joining dead last in 38th place he worked his way back through to 19th place but he still took third place in the overall Championship standings.

Jimmy - "It certainly wasn't the best weekend for me and not the way that I wanted to end such a great season. I've had a great year and after two years not racing it was so nice to come back and be so consistent. I wanted to end the season on a high but I was in the gravel at turn one and knew I would struggle to come back from that. I pushed hard and dug deep but it just wasn't meant to be. I'm really pleased to secure third overall in the Championship and it's great for the whole Moto-Breakers team that have worked so hard all season."

Jake Dixon was having a great weekend at Brands Hatch and qualified in second place on the Moto-Breakers Yamaha and got a fantastic start leading into the first corner and was battling with eventual Champion Lee Jackson for the lead. Lap three disaster struck when Dixon crashed out at the fast Sheene Curve, uninjured but disappointed to crash out of his home round.

Jake - "I'm gutted to have crashed out at Brands this weekend; I've won here the last two times we've come here so I'm really disappointed for this to happen. It just let go and I could do nothing about it. I've had a good year, finished fourth in the Championship in my first season and now I just need to see what my options are for 2013. "

James Lodge was the highest placed finisher in the race this weekend despite still suffering the effects of a broken collar-bone from Cadwell Park. Lodgey had struggled throughout the weekend with his shoulder injury and was eager just to finish the season in one piece.

James - "It wasn't the best weekend, I crashed whilst out racing at Darley Moor last weekend and landed on my bad side which really aggravated it and just didn't want to crash this weekend. I found it tough but pushed through the pain and dug deep, I have to thank the Moto-Breakers team for this opportunity this year and hope to be back with them in 2013."

The Moto-Breakers team this weekend welcomed young Australian Levi Day to the team for Brands Hatch and he will most likely race with the team in the Stock 600 class in 2013. He improved every session he went out on a circuit he had never seen until first practice on Friday morning, he qualified in 27th place and finished a creditable 18th place.
