Rockingham has been awarded the annual Motorsport Achievement Award byAMRA, the Automotive Manufacturers Racing Association.
AMRA, the trade organisation for the tyre companies and other specialistracing parts suppliers, presented the award in recognition ofRockingham's success in promoting the Days of Thunder meetings.
"Rockingham is extremely pleased to receive this award by one of themotorsport industries leading organisations," said Rockingham spokesmanJeff Carter. "All of the Rockingham team worked hard to make the 2003Days of Thunder season a great success, attracting over 150,000 peopleto Corby and this award recognises this."
The first AMRA Trophy was awarded in 1987 to Silverstone for the BritishGrand Prix. Since then the trophy has been presented annually tocircuits and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution toBritish motorsport.
