SCUNTHORPE and Somerset will make a second attempt to resolve the Premier League title at the Eddie Wright Raceway on Monday evening.Heavier rain than had been expected forced the postponement of the deciding leg on Sunday, with the Rebels making the trip north-east with a five-point lead from their home meeting last Friday.Scorpions promoter Rob Godfrey said: I feel so bad for the fans that travelled but if the forecast had been anything like accurate we would have been okay. At least were not due any rain at all (on Monday) so people can travel in absolute certainty that the meeting will be on. How many times have we been able to say that this year?I really want us to bring some glory to the town and you never know, it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity. Hopefully with the forecast so good and no Scorpions action for nearly five months we can still get a big crowd to try and cheer us to victory.

POOLE promoter Matt Ford has praised his sides resilience as they look to complete victory in the Elite League Knockout Cup Final against Coventry on Monday. The Pirates are in a strong position going into the second leg with a 52-38 advantage, despite a traumatic week including their play-off Grand Final defeat against Swindon and the loss of star duo Chris Holder and Darcy Ward.Ford said: I hoped I would not be in this position, but to those people who have spoken out, I would like to remind them of their sarcastic digs as we line up in the final on Monday, having reached this stage without Chris or Darcy registering a point in the second leg at Peterborough last Thursday. At around ten minutes past eight on Thursday night there were so many towels being thrown in from the 'internet terraces' but dramatically the Pirates refused to be defeated, held on to an aggregate semi -final triumph over Peterborough and then stormed to a hugely impressive away win on Friday at Coventry.

RYE House became the first winners of the Premier Challenge Trophy as they overturned a 13-point first-leg deficit to get the better of Berwick at Hoddesdon. The Rockets won their home leg 58-35 with captain Jason Bunyan scoring a 15-point maximum, whilst youngsters Kasper Lykke and Jason Garrity clinched the silverware with a 4-2 in the penultimate race.Bunyan said: It was a great effort by the team that won us this silverware. Its not been easy this season, with all the changes, but we got there. With the exception of our guests for Charlie (Gjedde), the team has been settled for the last few weeks, and we finally showed what a settled side can do.From a personal perspective it was great to finish with a maximum, although its what I should have been doing all season! Its taken me a while to bounce back from my previous injuries, and also to get my head right, but the last few months have been really good.
