The side that we a putting together, you can see why riders want to come here. The club is getting stronger and stronger each year and the way it is run is just right.(SPEEDWAY 2)

IPSWICH have moved for former Leicester man Jari Makinen as they finalise their team plans for the 2013 Premier League.Finnish rider Makinen is the latest new arrival at Foxhall, with the Witches side being completed by Rohan Tungate, Morten Risager and Cameron Heeps who all return from this year.Co-promoter Chris Louis said: I didn't know much about Jari before I saw him ride at Leicester last year but I liked what I saw. He is another racer who doesn't give up if he misses the gate and he is another rider, like Rohan, who has now ridden all the PL tracks and should be able to build on the experience gained. I believe he has the potential to improve his average and also add to the excitement factor when out on track.

SWINDON have snapped up 2012 Premier League winner Ashley Birks to fill one of their reserve berths for next season.Birks will double-up with the Robins whilst racing for Scunthorpe once again, and Robins bosses believe he has the potential to make the grade in the top flight.Manager Alun Rossiter said: Ashley is a rider who is very much on the up. We brought him in a couple of times last year and his attitude was spot-on.I was very impressed with him, and although he hasnt had much Elite League action so far I feel that the more experience he gets at this level, the better hell become. Hes already shown he can get around all kinds of tracks with the success hes had, and thats important.

DEREK Sneddon will remain with Edinburgh next seasonand has been re-installed as the Monarchs team captain.Sneddon led the club to the Premier League title in 2008 before a loan move to Newcastle and then a return to Armadale this year.He said: Im honoured to be asked to be captain once again. Its sad that the previous captain Matthew (Wethers) is moving on but that means somebody has to be asked to take on the job, and Im happy its me.Obviously we only know some of the team at the moment but I know roughly what the thinking of the promotion is, and I cant see any reason why we shouldnt have a fantastic season.
