Fantastic performance by Fast Freddie at British Championship opener

Freddie Martin-Dye put in a superb performance at the S1 British Championship opener at Three Sisters circuit, Wigan. Freddie was fastest in official timed qualifying, and had a first and second in his heats to claim pole position for Final 1.Final 1. 18 laps. Freddie was walking away with the final, having established a 3 second lead, when his axle slipped, jamming on his brake. He struggled home to 14th, which would dictate his grid position for Final 2.Final 2. 18 laps. Out of the first corner, Freddie was barged wide and emerged in 19th spot. He then proceeded to fight his way through the field, to be in 2nd place on the final lap. The crowd were going mad, as Freddie overtook the leader with just two corners to go. And as he exited the corner, he slowed and let the previous leader back into the lead, to cross the line in second place! Freddie later explained that he felt he had used too much force to overtake the leader, and felt it only fair to wave him back past! Press and officials alike were highly impressed by Freddie's display of sportsmanship. "I can win this Championship" said Freddie, "but I will win it fairly."Freddie now flies to Parma, Italy, for the Margutti Trophy.
