Racing Steps Foundation announces provisional 2013 line ups

Calado, Harvey and McPhee lead ascent to pinnacle of motorsportThe Racing Steps Foundation has announced its provisional 2013 driver and rider line-up.The not-for-profit, private fund - which backed 10 young Brits in top level single-seater, kart and motorcycle racing in 2012 - has signed contracts for three of its drivers and one of its motorcycle racers to continue on their respective paths to the pinnacle of their sports.James Calado - the top rookie in GP2 in 2012 - will remain with Lotus GP (ART Grand Prix) for a second year in the series while recently-crowned British Formula 3 International Champion Jack Harvey is also joining the French squad for a tilt at the 2013 GP3 title.Jake Dennis, the newly-announced 2012 McLaren Autosport BRDC Award winner, also moves up the ladder following the conclusion of a deal with Fortec Motorsports to run the reigning Formula Renault NEC Champion in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 series next year.On two wheels, RSF motorcycle protge John McPhee steps up to a full-time ride on Dorna's World Championship MotoGP bill with the German RTG team in the 250cc Moto3 class."The RSF has been incredibly busy over the last three months trying to line up and finalise the best options for the drivers and riders we plan take forward next year," said RSF founder Graham Sharp."That process is still on-going which means we will be making further announcements as soon as all our negotiations are concluded."We enjoyed another successful year in 2012 to complement the championships and race wins that we have racked up in previous years."The aim now is to ensure we lay the right sort of foundations that will enable us to deliver similar success for British motorsport in 2013."The RSF's record to date stands at 14 championships, 13 vice-championships, 103 wins, 77 pole positions, 243 podium finishes, 85 fastest laps and two McLaren Autosport BRDC Awards
