MLR71, Euronova go on-track at Adria

Many teams have started their preparation for the 2013 Auto GP season and on Friday, two of them went on-track at Adria with their already-announced drivers in an effort to get ready for the start of the season, set for the 23rd and 24th of March at Monza.

Euronova Racing, fielding Kimiya Sato and Yoshitaka Kuroda and MLR71, with Michele La Rosa and Giacomo Ricci, were back running fully-staffed. The Emilia-based squad, directed by Vincenzo Sospiri, lined-up one car that was shared by the two Japanese racers. In the end, it was Sato to clock the fastest time in 1'08"0, while Kuroda, who did not lap on new tires, was just about one second off. They logged 150 laps over the day.

MLR71 also brought on-track their second car, which was driven by Giacomo Ricci, who drove a 90-km stint while Michele La Rosa rounded out the 100 mark. The Northern Italian operation is set to be back running in a few weeks at Mugello. Both teams were forced to change venues by the snow issues that plagued Monza, cancelling the test days scheduled at Autodromo Nazionale. On the other hand, MP Motorsport decided to go back to their shop partly due to the cold weather at Adria.

Enzo Coloni: The Auto GP teams were the first to go back on-track for the 2013 winter testing season. Despite the issues at Monza, where the they were informed late of the impossibility to run, two of them decided to move to Adria and field four drivers. It's a pity that MP Motorsport was unable to line-up Italian F.3 Riccardo Agostini and GP2 rookie Daniel De Jong, but I'm sure they will be finalizing their efforts very soon.
