The Moto-Breakers team will be back in 2013 after their successful opening season last year in the National Superstock 600 class, finishing the year in third, fourth and seventh in the overall Championship standings.
In 2013 the team have had a reshuffle and have not only swapped machines from Yamaha to Kawasaki but also riders and Championships. In 2013 the team will run one rider in the National Superstock 1000 class with Jonathan Lodge and in the Stock 600 Class James Lodge will run another year in the class and he will be joined by young Australian rider Levi Day on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
Jonathan Lodge will ride the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, the elder of the two brothers competed in the British Supersport Cup in 2012 and finished in a strong third place is now moving up to the bigger class to learn the skills and knowledge on a 1000cc machine.
Jonathan- "I've been working hard to get this year right, we've been working hard on the bikes and I've been saving the pennies for the season ahead. I'm really looking forward to this year, it's a new team, new bike and I know the Kawasaki ZX-10R can be right up there at the front. I didn't get to do any testing last year and only rode on race weekends as it wasn't feasible. It did affect my performance and in such a competitive and money driven class in Supersport it was very apparent.
I'm looking to get in as much seat time from now until the start of the season if the weather allows me to. I'm also looking forward to working in the same team as my brother again. I've not ridden the new bike yet and I've never ridden a 1000cc bike, so I'm keen to get out on it and see how I get on, I'm hoping if this weather brightens up it will be sometime in March. I certainly am looking forward to this year and hope I can get some good results."
Once again his younger brother James Lodge will compete in the National Superstock 600 class on the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, despite injuries in 2012 James still managed to finish in seventh place and notched up three podium places in the process.
James- "We had a great trip to South Africe. The first weekend was at the Port Elizabeth Aldo Scibante circuit, I qualified second overall and first in the 600s and managed to get 1st and 2nd out of the 600s in the two races which I was really pleased with.
At Zwartkops I qualified sevenths overall and took 3rd and 2nd in the races and second overall in the final results just ahead of Levi. I would like to thank Mick Grant for arranging all this for us, it was a really great experience.
I'm really looking forward to 2013 BSB season and I think we have a stronger package this year with the Kawasaki's. I'd only had half a season experience on a 600 before 2012 and now I have another year on top of that so I am definitely in a stronger position going into this season.
Shaun Rose has been a great team boss and with help from Alan Cook this year, Levi and I should have a great team to work with. After my best 2011 result of 16th my aim last year was to get top 10 finishes and I managed to get three podiums, so this year I am aiming for some race wins. I can't wait to get back racing at BSB."
Joining James in the Superstock 600 class will be talented Australian 23-year-old Levi Day, Levi has competed in the very competitive Australian Supersport class and is eager to learn his trade in the UK in one of the most competitive Championships in the world. Levi will have to learn the British circuits but if the past is anything to go by the Australians always produce some exceptionally fast riders.
Levi- "I know I have a lot to learn this season with all the new tracks and also the new bike. I feel extremely positive that the team will be working hard to help me develop and get up to speed quickly, I am really looking forward to the season ahead.
I have just returned back from South Africa after ex TT star Mick Grant arranged for us to go for some pre-season riding. I missed the first round due to commitments at Philip Island in Australia. At the second round at Zwarthkops the only track time we had before the race was a 15 minute qualifying session! I qualified in ninth and finished in second and third in the races. It's been a really good experience and has been great to be on a bike so early in the season."
