Rush Enterprises has signed a multi-race sponsorship deal with the Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) Nascar team.
The North American commercial vehicle dealers Rush Truck Centers brand will sponsor Tony Stewarts No. 14 Nascar Sprint Cup ride in three races this year, featuring on the bonnet of Stewarts Chevrolet SS at Fontana on 24th March, at Martinsville on 7th April, and at Richmond on 27th April.
In all other Sprint Cup races this year, the brand will serve as an associate sponsor with placement on the B-pillar and lower-rear quarterpanel.
Rush Truck Centers has partnered SHR for a number of years, hauling the teams fleet of cars to races and test sessions. Financial terms of the latest deal were not released, however it is likely to be worth upwards of US$1 million in cash and in-kind value.
Weve been doing business with Rush Truck Centers for years. Its an established relationship that will now have a much higher profile thanks to their decision to become a primary sponsor with the No. 14 team, said Stewart, co-owner of SHR with Haas Automation founder Gene Haas.Rush Truck Centers keeps our trucks and transporters in great condition, and you could argue those are the most important parts of our race team. Without them, our cars never get to the racetrack. The employees of Rush Truck Centers are as detail-oriented as we are, and they play a critical role in the success of our race team.
Rusty Rush, president and chief executive of Rush Enterprises, added: Weve been a part of Stewart-Haas Racing since 2010. They have a championship culture based on winning, with the same passion and drive we have at Rush Truck Centers. Many of our customers and employees are Nascar fans, so expanding our relationship with Stewart-Haas Racing makes business sense, now and for the future.
The deal was signed prior to Stewart winning his record-equaling seventh victory in the Nascar Nationwide Series race, the DRIVE4COPD 300, at Daytona last weekend. Stewart won the season-opener after managing to avoid a dramatic 12-car pile-up which resulted in debris crashing through a perimeter fence and injuring around 30 fans in the main grandstand.
