Gabriele Lancieri’s first race of the season will be on his home track at Imola. Andrea Pedrini, founder of the Newman Team, wanted Lancieri tocompete in a Porsche 911 GT3 in the NGT class alongside team-mate  Massimo Carli.

Gabriele Lancieri:“To start the season off on my home track is very special to me. Forthis event I will be competing in the Italian GT championship but myparticipation will not go beyond this race.

Regardless of this, this competition is very important for me, for my fans and for my sponsors. My manager Giovanni Minardi and I are in fact negotiating a deal for me to partecipate in the FIA GT championship - it’s still too early for me to make an official announcement and at the moment I would like to concentrate on the Imola race.
