The first weekend in April will see the opening race meeting of the 2004 season at Rockingham.  The British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) is organising thirteen races over two days for single seat race cars and Touring Saloons.

Headlining the event on the 3rd and 4th April is the BARC Formula Renault Championship, with two races over the weekend for these powerful mini Formula One race cars.  On Sunday two further single seat races take place for the Classic Formula Ford championships.  Saloon car racing is well represented with five races for classic and historic touring cars.

Saturday 3rd April will see seven races during the afternoon from 1pm preceded by qualifying sessions from 9am.  Track action gets underway at 10am on Sunday with the first of six races commencing at 1:10pm.

Gates open at 9am on both days with tickets costing £12 for adults and children 16 and under Free.  A weekend ticket is also available at £20.  Further details are available on the Rockingham website at www.rockingham.co.uk.

The next meeting after this is the first big one of the year as Rockingham gets ready for the opening Days of Thunder event on Sunday 2nd May.  As well as the high powered V8 action on the track, no 1 group BLUE will be performing live on the Rockingham Smash Hits stage.
