Another Podium for Davidson and MJW Kick Kawasaki

he Red Bull Pro Nationals kicked off this weekend at Landrake in Cornwall and the MJW Kick Kawasaki team once again secured another successful podium with youngster Rob Davidson in the Rookie Youth Cup, he gained third overall. Will Keogh was 19th overall, Macualey Madden was 21st, James Lassu had to miss this round due to injury.

Rob Davidson - "The first round of the Pro Nationals went well for me and the MJW Kick Kawasaki team, I managed to get third in qualifying which put me in a good position for the races. I was feeling strong going into the opening race but sadly I got a really shocking start and crashed into turn one. I ended the first lap in 31st position and knew I had to get my head down and dig in and managed to pass a number of riders and finished fourth.

In race two I made another bad start put managed to pull it back through to fourth again. As we went into race three I knew we had to try and do something to help me with my starts, so we changed a couple of things on the bike and this enabled me to get out the gate better for race three and got through to third.

The last two races were on the Sunday and Mark Woodage from MJW made some awesome changes to the suspension and worked hard on the Kawasaki to get it feeling mega for the tough Landrake track. I instantly could feel the changes and it made me feel really confident for the races, I got a good start and managed to get second after a hard battle.

For the final race I was really pleased and this helped massively with my confidence, we had a good bike set up and I managed to get the hole shot and was leading for the first few laps. I was passed by Dan Thornhill but I was really pleased with second and taking third overall and a good position in the Championship. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me especially Mark Woodage as without his help we would have struggled and I'm really pleased with everything and the way my season is going so far."

Will Keogh did well over the five races and continued to improve his lap times and results.

Will Keogh - "I've never ridden at a track like Landrake before and I've had no winter training on a track like this and adapting to the track was initially quite difficult. I managed to get good starts in each race and was 13th in race 1, 14th in race two, I made a few mistakes and had a couple of crashes in race three which dropped me back to 25th.

On day two I got 19th and 17th, it was a hard track to get right and once again everything is a learning curve and I want to keep improving as the year goes on. I want to keep improving my riding style and my times every time I go out on track and I'm sure the results will keep improving throughout the season."

Macauley Madden had a difficult weekend at Landrake and despite a number of crashes over the five races he struggled to get into a rhythm.

Macauley Madden - "I managed to qualify in 19th place for the races and in race one I was running within the top 13 when I crashed out I remounted and finished in 19th place. The same again happened in race two I was in the top 15 and crashed out again I got back on and finished 21st. We made a few changes to the bike for the last race on Sunday and I was running a good pace and got 16th in the end which I was pretty pleased with.

We made a few more changes to the bike for the races on Sunday, I got a bad start in race four and left myself with a lot of work to do but worked hard and got to 19th. The last race of the day was probably my best I got a good start and was running in the top ten but I made a couple of silly mistakes which dropped me back to 16th. Every weekend is a learning weekend but the MJW Kick Kawasaki team have been really supportive of me and hope I can continue to improve as the season goes on, I had a bit of bad luck this weekend and made a couple of mistakes I shouldn't have done but I'm excited to get back out there racing again."

The eldest member of the team James Lassu was side lined this weekend for the Pro Nationals after a testing crash saw him suffer an injury to his finger which he requires surgery on to fix, the MJW Kick Kawasaki team would like to wish him a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back out on track soon.

Due to unforeseen circumstances Luke Remmer has withdrawn from the MJW Kawasaki team, we would like to wish Luke and his sponsor all the best in their future.

Team Owner Mark Woodage said - "It was a pleasure attending the Red Bull Pro Nationals this weekend, it was a great event and the E22 Team put on a fantastic show.

Our Rookie team all did a fantastic job at Landrake, Rob getting his third straight podium finish in a row and Will and Macca showing promising speed with some good top 15 results in some of the races. All three rode mature races and each improved every time out on the bike and it gives me confidence knowing they are learning and moving forward each time.

I must thank all our personal sponsors for their continued help this season in my first year running my own motocross team. I would also like to wish James a speedy recovery with his injury."
