The Auto GP racecars are set to roar on the streets of Budapest next weekend. Right before the start of Round 3 of 2013, the Hungarian event's promoters planned a Road Show which will also involve Enzo Coloni's championship. As happened in 2012, the Hungarian capital city will be welcoming some open-wheel machinery. This time though, the privilege won't be reserved to Formula 1 as the Auto GP car, developed by Coloni Motorsports and Enrique Scalabroni, will be hitting the main stage. On May the 1st, the 550-horsepower Zytek engines will rock a 2-kilometer course around the town twice, for the joy of the fans.
The itinerary will include some of the major streets and locations of Budapest like the Casin, Szechenyi square, the Chain Bridge over the Danube, Clark Adam square, Jozsef Attila street, Bajcsy-Zsilinszky street and Andrassy street. The event, covered by national TV channel M1 and by radio stations Kossuth Radio and FM radio, will also feature motorcycle rider Gabor Talmacsi and WTCC's local hero Norbert Michelisz.
Enzo Coloni: Being part of such a sensational event makes us really proud and is an important occasion to showcase our project in a different context from the regular track environment. Open-wheel cars will be represented by Auto GP which is taking the place of Formula 1. Providing our drivers with the chance to live an amazing experience like this, between the streets of beautiful Budapest, is part of our developmental project for young drivers so they can learn to manage media appearances and events.
