The Moto-Breakers Kawasaki team secured their third podium in a row with James Lodge at Oulton Park in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 class gaining third place, his team mate Australian Levi Day gained a fantastic fifth place. Jonathan Lodge in the Superstock 1000 class gained 18th place in his race.
James Lodge rode well all weekend and third place on the grid during qualifying and was eager to secure another solid race finish. Gaining a good start he was away with the leading pack, as Jordan Simpkin made a break at the front James was locked in a tight battle throughout the 14-lap race with Joe Collier and in the closing stages Luke Hedger. Despite fending off several challenges from Hedger he made a mistake into the final turn on the last lap allowing Hedger to slip underneath him.
James Lodge - "That was a really good race, I didn't realise there were so many people throughout the race as it was difficult to see my pit board with the glare from the sun. I probably should have taken a look over my shoulder at some point as maybe I could have pushed a little harder and bridged a bigger gap but I didn't realise they were so close to me. It was a good weekend for me here during all sessions and I felt really comfortable on the Moto-Breakers Kawasaki and was eager to get a good result in the race. I made a couple of little mistakes and one of these allowed Luke passed on the final lap but I'm still happy to have gained third place and now I am lying joint second in the Championship and excited about to getting to Donington in a few weeks."
Levi Day settled in well to Oulton Park learning the track and improving his times drastically from the track day he was able to do here. The young Australian got a great start and was away with the front runners and dicing for a podium position until he was forced wide and lost a little of his rhythm. Gaining his best result of the season so far he is now lying in seventh in the overall Championship standings.
Levi Day - "I'm really pleased with my result here at Oulton, it's a great track and was mega fun to ride and the result showed that. I was running well with the front runners but I got pushed out really wide half way through the race and I rolled off and lost a couple of places. I had to settle back down and regroup but by this point the leading bunch had made a break. I was able to set some really good and consistent lap times which helped me push my way forwards and get a healthy solid result. I know now I am able to run at the same pace as the front runners so I have to ensure my qualifying is good and try and get some more points on the board."
Jonathan Lodge qualified in 25th place for the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 race after suffering with a blocked fuel filter during the qualifying sessions, he rode a solid race to push up to 18th during the 15-lap race. He was in an eight wheel battle for 17th with experienced Superstock 1000 riders such as Jimmy Storrar, Simon Andrews and Josh Elliott.
Jonathan Lodge - "Each time I go out on the bigger bike it is getting easier to ride but each circuit I am trying to find a good set up and every circuit is new for data so it's still learning and hopefully when we come back here later in the year I might be able to qualify higher up and then get a decent result. We had a problem during the qualifying sessions and we found it to be a blocked fuel filter which forced my bike to struggle for power, we got it fixed and sorted for the race and it felt loads better. I was a bit gutted about my qualifying as my race times were as good as the guys in the top 15 so at least I can take the positives from here and move to Donington knowing what I can do. I'm still adjusting my riding style but it is beginning to be a little easier and hopefully the results will start coming."
