Euro 3000 - GP lead in testing

For the upcoming season starting on May 2nd in Pergusa next month, teams in the Superfund Euro 3000 series got together for a test session on the Vallelunga roman circuit (Tuesday March 30th and  Wednesday March 31st) .

GP Racing had Fabrizio Del Monte and Maxime Hodencq on track - Fabrizio Del Monte, last year’s European vice champion, set the best time with the #6 Lola: 1’04’’738.

Tancredi Pagiaro

"I came back from Vallelunga encouraged by the positive test session. The drivers are anxious to race again and prove our competitiveness. The variable weather conditions allowed us to test on the wet and on a dry track.  Fabrizio set the fastest lap while Maxime gained more confidence with a car that is very demanding for him. The second test session was characterized by rain but things worked out well for us. We were able to work on different car set ups for wet tracks. Apart from a few off-track moments on the sand, I’m glad to say that we didn’t have any serious problems and completed our schduled programme.”

Fabrizio Del Monte

“I’m obviously very happy, setting the best time these two days, proves how competitive we are. However, we will see everyone else’s potential during the first race in Pergusa scheduled on May 2nd.

Maxime Hodencq

"Physically I am at my 60%.I still need to work hard to reach tip-top shape. These cars are very challenging to drive and I therefore have to work on my physical condition. The team has been helping me a lot and I now have to get ready to be at my 100% for the first race.”
