Smith switches to Supersports

Jeremy Smith has switched to the Dunlop Supersports Championship for 2004 in the ex-Daniel Gibson Nemesis RME03. Having won the BARC Formula Renault title in 2002, Smith had a season in the Porsche Carrera Cup last year, but has now switched to the sports-prototype category.

“It is a fantastic car to drive and this is the type of car I went to end up racing,” says Smith. “It is a bit of a side step,” admitted the Yorkshireman, who is running the car with the help of friends.

At Rockingham for the pair of opening races, smith claimed second and fourth places to get his season off to a decent start. “I’m looking forward to the next races at Croft as I’ve done some testing there.”

The championship resumes at Croft over the weekend of 15/16 May, when Nemesis founder Paul Gibson is scheduled to make his seasonal debut in the latest development RME 04.
