Horne predicts three-way contest

arry Horne, the 2003 champion, has predicted that three drivers will battle to take over his title in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. The Scottish ace reckons that Richard Westbrook, Jason Templeman and Tim Harvey will be the men challenging for the 2004 crown.

Barry was speaking to Motorsport News as part of the magazine's season preview in this week's issue (Wednesday 7 April). When asked for his views on the favourites for 2004, Horne named the three drivers that he battled with last season.

"I think Richard Westbrook will be a contender simply because of how quick he is," said Horne. "Jason Templeman and the Vic Lee team will make a very good combination and Tim Harvey will definitely be in there; he'll be quick and has a lot of experience. I think it will be between those three for the championship."

In 2003, Westbrook and Templeman finished second and third in the final standings, while Harvey was a race winner in the VIP car from Porsche Cars GB.

Barry, who is still working on plans to tackle selected Porsche Supercup races in 2004, will be on hand at Thruxton on Easter Sunday to watch the opening races in the 2004 Carrera Cup GB.

"Maybe one of the Team Parker Racing drivers will spring a surprise as well," added Barry of the team that guided him to the title last season.
