Explosive Entry Growth Continues with Impressive Line-Up
The pre-entry list for this weekend's Food City 250 has 42 cars slated tocompete in round three of the Rolex Sports Car Series. The impressiveline-up is nearly three times the number on last year's pre-entry list forthe race, continuing the explosive growth experienced by the Rolex Seriesthis season.
Eighteen Daytona Prototypes are on tap for the 250-mile race under thelights Saturday night, more than four times the number of Daytona Prototypes at last year's event. Among the strong contingent is Hurley Haywood and JC France, who will try to defend last year's win in the Brumos Racing No. 59 Porsche Fabcar.

Kyle Petty Returns to Rolex Series for Food City 250
Kyle Petty will return to the Rolex Sports Car Series this weekend,competing in the Food City 250. The NASCAR NEXTEL Cup driver will rejoin Gunnar Racing, this time at the wheel of the No. 45 Porsche GT3 RS.
"It's no secret that I love racing in the Rolex Series," Petty said. "I tryto do it every chance I get, and with NEXTEL Cup being off that weekend, Ijumped at the chance to get back in a sports car. I'm looking forward torunning at Phoenix, because in the past I've only been able to race with theSeries at Daytona and Watkins Glen. Those tracks have a lot morestraightaways and sweeping turns, but Phoenix is much shorter and a lottighter. It should be a fun track to learn and make things pretty excitingcome race time."

Theys Hikes Camelback as Part of His Training
Hikers on the trails of Camelback Mountain probably do not realize it, butthey have something in common with many drivers in the Rolex Sports CarSeries that will be racing in the Food City 250 Saturday night. At one timeor another, it is very likely they have all been passed by Didier Theys. Thedriver of the Doran-Lista Racing No. 27 Lexus Doran lives in Scottsdale and hikes those trails regularly as part of his training regimen. He willco-drive with Fredy Lienhard in the 250-mile race.

HART To Debut in Rolex Series At Food City 250
Honda of America Racing Team (HART) will make its Rolex Sports Car Series debut in the Food City 250 this weekend. John Schmitt and Pete Halsmer will co-pilot the No. 62 Acura NSX in the 250-mile race.
HART is no stranger to Grand American. Schmitt was the 2003 Grand-Am Cup Sport Touring class driver champion, while Halsmer finished second. The two also won last year's Grand-Am Cup ST race at Phoenix.

Barbosa to Join SFoW Maserati at Phoenix
Joao Barbosa, the 2003 Rolex 24 At Daytona GTS class winner, will join theSFoW Maserati team for the Food City 250 this weekend. Barbosa will share the team's Maserati Trofeo Light GT with regular drivers Emil Assentato and Steve Earle for the race. Nick Longhi, long-time road racing competitor, coach, and team manager, will step out of the cockpit for a short time to resolve a recently diagnosed health issue.

Borcheller, Stanton Go for Grand-Am Cup Three-Peat at Phoenix
Terry Borcheller and Criag Stanton will try to win their third Grand-Am Cup Series race in as many tries when they compete in the Phoenix Grand Sport 200 Friday night. The two will co-pilot TheRaceSite.com Racing No. 44 Porsche 996.
In addition to racing in both the Rolex Series Food City 250 and the Phoenix Grand Sport 200, Borcheller will continue his tradition of meeting youth groups invited to the track by Motorsports Ministries. A group of teens from Chandler First Assembly will be at Phoenix International Raceway on April 8 to watch practice and chat with him.
