SOMERSET ended Leicesters unbeaten home record dating back to August 2011 with a dramatic 47-46 win at the Premier League leaders. The Rebels trailed by twelve points at the half-way stage and had also seen reserve Stefan Nielsen crash out of the meeting, but Nick Morris scored a paid maximum with Jason Doyle and Josh Grajczonek adding double-figure scores to complete a remarkable comeback.Somerset boss Garry May said: I knew that our strength lay in the second half of the meeting, and that proved to be the case as we provided six out of the last seven heat winners, but we also crucially backed that up with heat advantages with Nick, Doyley and Josh being superb all night for us.Leicester co-promoter Alan Jones added: Records are there to be broken and it is naive to think that it would go on indefinitely. It was going to happen sometime but we have to question ourselves after being ahead by twelve points.(SPEEDWAY 2)

RICHIE Worralls second place in Heat 15 was enough to secure Newcastle a hard-earned 46-44 win at Rye House after a close night of racing. Both sides led during the meeting but Worrall and Stuart Robson secured a big 5-1 in Heat 13 to put the Diamonds four points up, and with the penultimate race shared Worrall split Nelson and Anders Mellgren in the decider.Newcastle boss George English said: After last weeks Cup defeat nothing was guaranteed tonight, and as for Rye House thinking this would have been an easy win for us - I think the truth fell pretty much mid-way between their thoughts and our beliefs that this was always going to be a hard-fought match, which it was as it wasnt until the last couple of races where we nailed the three points. It could have swung either way, but were delighted to come away with more league points from our travels again and thats pushed us back up into fourth place in the Premier League, so were happy.

BERWICK overcame the loss of two riders to defeat Plymouth 56-37 and move up to eighth in the Premier League table.Nicki Barrett (shoulder) and Kozza Smith (ill) were both withdrawn by the halfway stage of the meeting, but with Matthew Wethers and guest Ben Barker both scoring paid maximums the Bandits still had enough firepower to take a comfortable win.Berwick boss Ian Rae said: I was so proud of Matthew as he really showed us his best form and proved to everyone his signing really was a fine choice. Another great choice was to get Ben in as a guest as he too went through the night unbeaten by a Plymouth man.David (Bellego) and Robin (Aspegren) also both upped their game magnificently and Plymouth took the brunt, despite us losing two guys mid-match. This was a good performance and one to build upon.(SPEEDWAY 4)
