WOLVERHAMPTON extended their lead at the top of the Elite League back to five points with a 55-38 win over Eastbourne at Monmore Green.Skipper Freddie Lindgren led the way for the home side with 14 points, beaten only by Bjarne Pedersen in Heat 1, and the Dane was also the only rider to get the better of home guest Chris Harris.Wolves boss Peter Adams said: We expected a bit of backlash from Eastbourne after they were thrashed at home against rivals Poole on Friday. In the early stages that looked to be the case, but we gradually got on top of them and won quite comfortably in the end. It was another strong performance where everyone played their part.(SPEEDWAY 2)

GLASGOW star James Grieves wants to do his bit to help find local talent for the club after hanging up his kevlars at the end of the season. Both Grieves and Tigers No.1 Joe Screen are to retire in October, but Grieves has stressed he wants to remain involved on the training side.He said: Craig Cook came from motocross, and so did Richard Lawson. Surely there must be a few motocross boys up Scotland way that are keen to do speedway.I would be more than happy to look after them and train them. But we feel Josh represents what the club is all about, giving youngsters a chance, and that is exactly what Josh has here - a chance to put himself up against the best the National League has to offer.
