Despite the horrendous weather conditions at the final round of the British MXY2 Championship at Desertmartin in Northern Ireland, it was a time to celebrate for the MJW Kick Kawasaki team as their rider Rob Davidson became the 2013 British MXY2 Champion.

It was all down to the last round and the last race and young Rob had to ensure he rode a mature last race to take the crown. Riding fantastically in every race this season Rob and in the debut season for the MJW Kick Kawasaki team it was a great achievement for all involved.

Rob Davidson - "I was feeling really good going to Desertmartin this weekend for the last round as it's one of my favourite tracks to ride at. Having the red plate was good because I just needed to do my own thing and keep it all together.

I was sixth in qualifying which wasn't where I wanted to be but I knew I could still get more speed in the races. In the first race I got a really bad start and pulled myself back through to fifth and that wasn't good enough I knew and it dropped me back to second place in the Championship by two points, leaving a lot of pressure for the final race of the year.

I knew I had to pull something special out of the bag in the last race no matter what. I got a really good start and entered turn one in third place, I pushed hard to try and get through to the front of the pack and eventually managed it. I managed to bridge a bit of a gap and then got a board to say Brad Todd had a bike problem, this played in my favour and I could ease off a little and not risk doing anything stupid. I rode a solid race to the end and I'm over the  moon to have won the British Championship."

I'm really happy with my day in Ireland and looking forward to moving into the big class in 2014. I still have the Red Bull series to focus on for the rest of the year and my aim is to go well there also. A massive thank you must go to everyone who has helped me get this far and take this Championship, hopefully I can work with the same people over the next few years."

Will Keogh had his best ride of the year so far in Ireland despite the rain and the rutted track he secured a very strong 12th place overall. Finishing in 18th in the overall Championship standings.

Will Keogh - "Unfortunately after a technical issue with my race bike in qualifying I had to use my practice bike for the two races.

Race one went pretty well and to plan but a small off set me back to 14th place which I was still pretty pleased with. The second race was much better for me, I held it together and stayed smooth even though the track was quite rough after all the bad weather. I managed to finish the race in 11th and finish my first season in the British Championship in 18th place overall which I'm happy with."

Macauley Madden finished in 16th overall for the two races and 20th overall in the Championship standings.

Macauley Madden - "It was a difficult weekend after all the rain left the track quite hard to ride, I managed to qualify in 17th place. I was riding ok and managed to get myself up to ninth place but ended up crashing and dropping back to 16th. I got a much better start in race two and crashed again but managed to finish in 14th. It's been a good season and experience and I'm looking forward to the remaining Red Bull races for the year."

Team Owner Mark Woodage - "What an amazing day for Rob and the MJW Kick Kawasaki team. Less than a year ago I sat with Ross Burridge of Kawasaki UK, asking for the opportunity and sponsorship, having the idea of building a motocross team to find the next British Youth Champion and take him to a pro level.

In our very first season we have all achieved this goal, it's been a massive team effort and would like to thank Rob's parents, Pete and Sue for their support, my wife Sharon for her patience, all the other team members, riders and family along with all sponsors.

Also I would like to mention the improved development of Will and Macauley and would like to see them progress forward as we finish the season competing in the Red Bull Pro Nationals. Will secured his best result of the season at Desertmartin and it's great to see the improvements both riders have been making as the season has progressed. It's great to have three very easy to work with riders on the MJW Kick Kawasaki team and I hope to continue their progress for the remainder of the season."
