Four Formula action at Bovington

Four all-action formulas, in the shape of the 2.0 Hot Rods, Rookie Bangers, Rookie Rods and Lightning Rods will take to the track at Bovingdon Raceway on Sunday April 18th at 1.30pm.

Fans of non-contact racing will enjoy the rapid 2.0 Hot Rods. These highly tuned machines always provide great racing at Bovingdon as the cars scream around the circuit, avoiding each other and the unforgiving safety fencing by mere inches.

The Rookie Bangers will definitely not be missing each other or the safety fence as the stripped out saloons and estates take each to pieces in Round 2 of their track championship. It is early days in the season for the Rookie Bangers, but already the bumpers are being put to very good use as the drivers plough through the field in pursuit of the chequered flag and points in the championship.

The Rookie Rods will also be in action. These budget racers are growing in popularity, with large grids of cars contesting for the silverware and providing rapid bumper-to-bumper racing in the process.

To complete a great day's racing the Lightning Rods will hit the track. The big Ford Sierra based Lightnings live up to their name with amazingly fast racing and truly breathtaking incidents when a driver gets it wrong and meets the safety fence at Bovingdon.

With four formulas on offer, free parking, and a great view of all the action from high-banked spectator areas, Bovingdon (situated off B4005 Bovingdon, Nr Hemel Hempstead, Herts, on the airfield complex) will be the place to be for some serious racing action on April 18th.
