The Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 NASCAR Busch Series race is less than five weeks away. Soon NASCAR stars Randy LaJoie and Tim Fedewa will return to the Lehigh Valley to race the historic one-mile oval. But before these FitzBradshaw Racing teammates get into their Goulds Pumps sponsored cars again on May 22-23, they will strap themselves into another type of car – a Go-Kart!
Nazareth Speedway announced today that two of their current record holders, Randy LaJoie and Tim Fedewa, will come to race the fans at S&S Speedway Indoor Go-Karts* in Snydersville, PA on April 19th from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Promoted by CAT County 96 FM, fans will also be selected on-air all week, to come and race against the stars, while others will be chosen from the crowd to compete during the event. The new reality series “NBS 24-7” will also be on-hand to cover the event and film the real interaction between fans and the FitzBradshaw drivers in an up-close and personal manner. This weekly reality series airs on SPEED Channel, Mondays at 8:00 pm (ET/PT).
LaJoie took the checkered flag at Nazareth Speedway in 1996 and topped the historical charts in 2003 when he broke the qualifying record with the average speed of 133.215 MPH. “It is a special track to me and I am always looking to do well there, maybe I’ll break another record this year,” said LaJoie.
Tim Fedewa also knows what it is like to be a Nazareth Speedway record holder. He is currently tied with the 2003 Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200 champion, Ron Hornaday Jr., for the most victories. He won his first victory at Nazareth Speedway in 1995 and the second in 1998. Will this year be his third?
There will be an autograph session and give-aways for adults and children, during the go-cart competition. Kids gift-packs will be available on-site. Two events are featured on the 2004 schedule at Nazareth Speedway, highlighted by both the Goulds Pumps ITT Industries 200, NASCAR Busch Series, and by the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series, returning on August 27-29 in the Firestone Indy 225.
